Indications for Clofazimine
1.Multibacillary leprosy
2.Dapsone resistant lepromatous leprosy
3.Skin ulcers
4.Erythema nodosum leprosm
5.Mycobacterium infections in immunocompromised individuals
Interactions for Clofazimine
Rifampicin: Decreases the rate of absorption of rifampicin.
Typical Dosage for Clofazimine
Multi bacillary leprosy: 300mg once a month and 50 mg daily both along with other drugs.
Dapsone resistant leprosy: 100mg/day along with other antileprotic drugs for 3 years followed by Clofazimine 100mg alone daily.
Erythema nodosum leprosm: 100mg to200mg daily reduced to100mg daily
Mycobacterium infections in immunocompromised individuals: 100 to 200mg daily up to 300mg
Type 2 lepra reactions: Up to 300mg/day for <3months.
Children (10 to 14 years): 150mg once a month and 50 mg on alternative days

Store at room temperature. Protect from heat and light. Keep out of the reach of children.
Effects of Missed Dosage of Clofazimine
Take the missed dose as soon as noticed and if it is the time for next dose then skip the missed dose. Continue the regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
Effects of Overdose of Clofazimine
Give supportive measures and symptomatic treatment.Drug can be removed from the body by inducing emesis or by gastric lavage.
