About Methyl PolysiloxaneSiloxanes, Antiflatulent.Mechanism of Action of Methyl PolysiloxaneMethyl Polysiloxane relieves flatulence by dispensing and preventing formation of mucus surrounding gas pockets in the gastro-intestinal tract. It lowers the surface tension of the gas bubbles and bringing together all the small bubbles of gas (coalesce) to form a large bubble, which is then expelled. Thus the gas is freed by belching or passing flatus.
Antiflatulents are added to an antacid gum coating to be effective antigas materials and eliminate trapped gas.Pharmacokinets of Methyl PolysiloxaneN/AOnset of Action for Methyl PolysiloxaneN/ADuration of Action for Methyl PolysiloxaneN/AHalf Life of Methyl PolysiloxaneN/ASide Effects of Methyl PolysiloxaneN/AContra-indications of Methyl PolysiloxaneHypersensitivity to Methyl PolysiloxaneSpecial Precautions while taking Methyl PolysiloxaneKidney failurePregnancy Related InformationN/AOld Age Related InformationN/ABreast Feeding Related InformationN/AChildren Related InformationN/AIndications for Methyl Polysiloxane1. About DiazepamA benzodiazepine derivative with CNS depressant, Anxiolytic, anticonvulsant, hypnotic, sedative, skeletal muscle relaxant and amnestic.Mechanism of Action of DiazepamDiazepam mainly acts on Limbic system and ascending reticular formation in the CNS and binds to the BZD receptor. The binding will facilitates GABA mediated chloride channel opening and produce hyperpolarisation. This will produce an increase in the concentration of the inhibitory neurotransmitter GABA and chloride ions and decreases firing rate of neuron. These in turn alters normal functions of the body.
Antivertigo action: Although intravenous diazepam has been used to abort acute attacks of vertigo of peripheral origin, it can prolong compensation and recovery from vestibular lesions
Pharmacokinets of DiazepamAbsorption: It is well absorbed after oral administration. Distribution: It is distributed widely in the body in protein bound form. Metabolism: It is metabolised to active metabolite (((Desmethyl diazepam))) in the liver. Excretion: Most metabolites are excreted in urineOnset of Action for Diazepam0.5 - 2 hourDuration of Action for Diazepam1 dayHalf Life of Diazepam20 - 100 hourSide Effects of Diazepam1.Ataxia
