Indications for Ramosetron
1.Nausea and vomiting associated with cancer chemotherapy
2.Irritable bowel syndrome in men
Interactions for Ramosetron
1.May increase plasma concentration when given with fluvoxamine (CYP1A2 inhibitor).
2.Tricyclic antidepressants, Phenothiazine Antipsychotics, Anticholinergics, MAO inhibitors, opioid agents, used in conjunction with ramosetron may enhance development of constipation and other G.I. adverse effects.
Typical Dosage for Ramosetron
Nausea and vomiting associated with cancer chemotherapy:Oral:100 mcg once daily;I.V: Adult: 300 mcg once daily. May administer an additional dose of 300 mcg if necessary. Max: 600 mcg/day.
Irritable bowel syndrome in men: 5 mcg once daily, may adjust dose according to symptoms. Max: 10 mcg/day.
