Mechanism of Action of Bicalutamide
This antiandrogenic drug binds to the receptor of androgens on the cells of prostate gland. Thus it blocks the action of androgen on prostate gland and prevents growth of androgen stimulated prostate cancer.

Distribution-Widely distributed in the body.96% bound to the plasma proteins
Metabolism- Metabolized in the liver to its metabolites. S isomer of the drug is metabolized by glucoronidation and R-isomer is metabolized by glucoronidation followed by oxidation to its metabolites
Excretion- Excreted via urine and feces
